The Central Wisconsin Area Community Theater (cwACT) 2011-2012 season is about to get under way.
They open in October with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, music and lyrics by David Yazbek and book by Jeffrey Lane, the 2005 musical adaptation of the 1988 film of the same name, which, unofficially, is in turn based on the 1964 David Niven film, Bedtime Story. Next up, in February, will be the classic romantic comedy The Philadelphia Story, written in 1939 by Philip Barry specifically for Katharine Hepburn and adapted by Barry into the 1940 film of the same name, again starring Ms. Hepburn. The season will close in May with their production of Arcadia, a 1993 play by Tom Stoppard, of which the reviewer for the Daily Telegraph in London once said, “I have never left a play more convinced that I had just witnessed a masterpiece”.
High marks for diversity with a three show season! For information on season tickets, see the ticket information page on the cwACT site. The information below is also available on the Shows page.
